FERS is an independent agency located and operated out of Sterling Heights, MI with agents across the country. We specialize in helping federal employees understand what benefits they have working through the government and how they work. With the recent cutbacks in the federal marketplace, employees are constantly searching for answers regarding their benefits and we are the ones who can provide quick and accurate solutions. Whether it be the Post Office, Department of Veteran Affairs, the Social Security Administration, Federal Prisons or any federal agency all employees need our help.
Job Duties
We have a marketing plan that will generate leads across the county via direct mailers, phone calls, on-site vending and seminars. Your main source of personal marketing will be to accumulate referrals through your interactions with the employees. We are looking for a licensed life insurance agent who has specific knowledge of life insurance and how it works. We specialize in helping federal employees who are in the accumulation phase of their career to plan for retirement and develop strategies to protect their income and their family. Almost all federal employees save into their Thrift Savings Plan (the government's version of a 401k) but do not save any money outside of their employer. They also have a significant need for additional life insurance as the coverage they have may be insufficient and they have not had to an open season since 2004. You will need to explain how their benefits work through the government and provide solutions to the gaps in their plan. Once you have success with life insurance sales we will begin training you to work with retirees and teach you our rollover process.

We will provide plenty of training and ongoing support to ensure your success on this opportunity and are looking to bring on a new successful sales team.
Qualifications
You must be licensed to sell life insurance here in your state. You also must be able to communicate and relate to people very well and have a background selling annuities. We are looking for representatives in your area to work our lead program and help all federal employees. You must be able to close business on a regular basis and obtain referrals every chance you get
